Built 1875

Research shows that this home was built by the Taggert family. It has lovely Queen Anne features with a sun porch and a summer kitchen added later. James M. Jones and wife Mildred bought this property in 1914 from Sarah House. Jones was a graduate from Indiana University Law School in 1895. He was born in Elkinsville and moved to Nashville to start his attorney business. He was the Nashville State Bank attorney for 40 years and became the bank president after he was 80 years old. James and Mildred had five children. The property remained in the Jones family until 2000 when it was sold to Harold Stanley and his family.
