Built 1890

The original “Old Bank Building” and its twin cement block building were built for a doctor's office. The cement blocks were made on Greasy Creek by local labor. The doctor’s office was built by Dr. Tilton, and later occupied by Dr. Nolan and Dr. Williams and then purchased by J.P. Bessire where he opened the first curio shop in Brown County.

After the bank moved to its new quarters, the building became a post office and later was used for shops, a restaurant, and a real estate office before it was remodeled for the present gift shop.
